VIETNAM

Sr. Cresencia Lagunsad was invited by a Vietnamese sister of the Holy Rosary Congregation, who was studying in the Philippines, to conduct research in her country on possibilities for establishing a community and promoting vocations. At the end of 2003/beginning of 2004, Sr. Cresencia enthusiastically visited various congregations in Vietnam and Cambodia.

On July 1, 2004, Sister Marivic Braganza, accompanied by Sister Cresencia Lagunsad, officially set foot in Vietnam. Sister Virgie followed on September 22, 2005. Our first goal was to learn the Vietnamese language. Sister Marivic worked as a volunteer in a center for disabled and orphaned children run by the Congregation of Saint Paul de Charters. Sister Virgie taught English to Vietnamese students. We also came into contact with HIV/AIDS victims and elderly people in the Saint Camillus home. We taught Christian values at the Hoa Mau Don Orphanage and cooked for the Gia Dinh Tinh Thuong Te-Phan Orphanage. On Sundays, we gave catechism classes to the children of Catholic migrant workers at the International Catholic Chaplaincy.

In addition, we worked with various religious congregations to promote vocations for our congregation. Several candidates have already been professed.

Currently, our apostolate consists of providing support to seniors and orphans.
